आव्यूह
Avyuh
Avyuh (आव्यूह) is the Sanskrit word for matrix. We chose it after a long search for a name that came from Indian culture, Sanskrit and mathematics, and that could carry more than one meaning.
In English, a matrix can mean code, rules, structure, placement, dimensions, illusion and the truth. In Sanskrit, Avyuh holds all of those and adds strategy and infinity. Our idea is simple: everything is a matrix.
Nine meanings, one word
- 01
Code
Software is a matrix of instructions. Every system we build begins as rules written down precisely enough for a machine to follow.
- 02
Rules
Every system runs on rules, visible or not. We make them explicit, so they can be questioned and improved.
- 03
Structure
Good work has a frame that holds it up. We care about the shape underneath as much as the surface.
- 04
Placement
Where a thing sits changes what it means. The right idea in the wrong place fails, and the same idea well placed does the work.
- 05
Dimensions
Every problem has more dimensions than the first description shows. We look along the ones people forget.
- 06
Illusion
What appears solid may be a pattern, and what appears random may have order. We try to see past the surface.
- 07
The truth
We prefer an honest answer to a flattering one, including when it changes the plan.
- 08
Strategy
In Sanskrit, Avyuh also describes a formation arranged for a purpose. We think the same way about how work is arranged.
- 09
Infinity
A matrix has no fixed edge. It can always extend, and so can what we learn and build.
A note from us
We started Avyuh to use applied science and technology in a positive way: to make work easier and life better, and never to work against people. AI, IoT and the rest of modern technology can do a great deal of good when they are built for humans.
Too often today, people have become the product, with their attention and their data used to earn money. We want to make a difference. We build technology that aims to protect your privacy, save your time and give you some peace.
We, Avyuh
